Blue Waves located on Morjim Beach, near Marbela Beach Resort, is a two-floor beach shack that serves the classic Goan shack menu comprising seafood, salads, Indian main courses, shakes and juices; however, is better known for the epic trance parties it hosts throughout the season. Their Christmas and New Year's parties are often the most popular this side of the bridge, while their mid-season marathon trance nights also draw quite a crowd.

Located right on the picturesque beach of Morjim is the chilled-out, Russian owned restaurant-lounge, Bora Bora. Open 24 hours, the beachfront lounge draws largely a Russian clientele, though it caters to travellers from across the globe. The menu is eclectic, the music is always on and always good (the owner is a DJ), and the beach in front is pristine. With services like a kindergarten for the kids and kite-surfing classes for adventurous adults, it is easy to see why Goa's Bora Bora is one of the area's most popular and most talked-about destinations.

Set right on Baga Beach, Café la Musica is a chic beachside lounge. The café offers an eclectic menu featuring innovative oriental fare along with a well stocked bar and delightful cocktails. The ambiance here is laid-back and stylish. Run by a DJ/musician and his wife, Café la Musica hosts regular parties in this fabulous beachside venue.

Curlies is one of the original beach shacks on Anjuna Beach, offering an eclectic and expansive menu, chilled cocktails, several chill-out and dining areas and a fabulous beachfront location. It is the place to meet and greet for sunset and trance! The music begins around 5pm, with DJs from across the globe playing Goa trance to the setting sun. As the night advances, the decibels continue to rise along with the energy. Stringent noise pollution laws ensure the parties wind down around midnight, but every so often, they find a way to go on..and on…and on! So stick around!

"Hakuna Matata, it means "no worries...for the rest of your days" sings the popular song in Disney's "The Lion King", referring to the Swahali phrase "life without worry". Hakuna Matata's chilled out camp sits on the picturesque Morjim beach and since its opening in 2008, has proven to be quite popular, especially with the Russian tourists. Accommodations comprise 10 tented guest-rooms equipped with air-con and a mini bar, while the beachfront restaurant/shack in the property offers a range of European favourites and fresh seafood.
Cockstown is an ubiquitous Arambol beach shack (by day), serving fresh seafood and chilled cocktails. On some evenings, however, this beach shack transforms into an outdoor beach-club. With resident (global) DJs playing techno and electro, the parties often last late into the night under the stars and the grove of coconut trees. Dream Catcher is the quintessential Arambol beach shack. Its Goan owners ensure that the whatever is served here is nothing short of exceptional, from the freshest grilled seafood, Goan plates (try the Vindaloo) and its best kept secret, the Strawberry Daiquiri, served very chilled in a very tall glass.
During the day Janet & John's offers a diverse multi-cuisine menu, from fresh seafood to refreshing fruit juices. Thursday nights, however, are dedicated to a weekly jam session. The owner is known to take the stage (and the mic) every week, while the restaurant serves a generous buffet of fresh seafood, grilled or cooked in delicious Goan curries. Trust us, you'll want to try them all!
A chic beach-side restaurant, serving up some of Goa's finest French (or "French fusion", as the proprietors prefer to call it) fare, with an international, jet-setter and sometimes celebrity clientele. One of the original Ashvem Beach restaurants, and often compared to Tropez's Club 55, the food here is divine, as is the ambiance. This season features many new additions to the menu ("Chocolate Thali"!), while retaining all the old favourites (Seared Tuna with Wasabi Mashed Potatoes, Chicken Pâté with Onion "Jam", Beef Carpaccio...and much more!). Also don't miss, their "fusion" Bloody Mary!
The Meems’ Arabian Sea Beach Resort is the creation of a Kashmiri & Canadian husband & wife team. This charming camp sits directly on Ashvem beach and offers a number of simple, albeit comfortable bamboo huts. The service here is caring and personal and is what distinguishes the Meems from the others in its class. The beach-shack restaurant offers a multi-cuisine menu with the obligatory fresh sea-food grills and a smattering of Goan fare. However, soon to be added to this, is a Kashmiri menu, something quite uncommon to Goa’s gastronomic offering…
One of Arambol's popular shacks, the menu here offers everything from Isreali to Chinese, Seafood and Indian cuisine. They are especially famous for their breakfast; thus, their name!
Pirache Village is an "Eco Resort" overlooking the bay in Morjim. Inspired by "an antique Indian Village" Pirache village comprises of 9 autonomous huts that have been constructed of eco-friendly organic local products such as palm leaves and rosewood. The property also offers an "eco restaurant" and an Ayurvedic spa on the property.
The Riva Resort sits on the quiet and pristine Mandrem Beach. Comprising 36 bamboo beach huts with attached baths and beachfront views, the resort offers excellent service at moderate prices. The open air restaurant serves an eclectic menu that is moderately priced and rather tasty.
Shiva Valley is the nondescript shack just next door to Curlies that turns into one of Goa’s hottest party spots every Tuesday. The parties begin at sunset with the “chai mamas” setting out their tables in preparation of feeding the hungry dancers. The venue attracts well known DJs from across the world and the dance-floor is packed soon after it opens. The parties continue till midnight, but like Curlies, some nights may go on longer. 5PM ONWARDS / Tuesday nights, & other special parties.
