Cavala, one of Baga's first restaurants, was once prime a meeting place for travellers from across the world. Today, the restaurant and bar is just as popular with Goa’s newer residents as with its returning loyal friends and patrons. The charming restaurant offers both long communal tables as well as private set-ups for couples or families. The menu is eclectic, features the Cavala favourites like the much sought after spicy ‘Country Captain’, Trincomalee Prawns. and Chicken Peri Peri.

Unpretentious and friendly, Cavala has become the preferred party destination for Goa's local and long-term residents. Cavala showcases local bands playing rock and retro, and is usually buzzing with jitterbugging feet and jiving couples. On weekdays you can enjoy softer meoldies from the house piano.
THE STORY
The Cavala story began over 30 years ago with the property’s original owner, the late Lino Jose Monteiro. Lino did what many aspire to do, relinquishing his career in the bustling metropolis of Mumbai, to move the idyllic Goan coast to live his dream. He purchased the plot of land in Baga and the construction of Cavala began soon thereafter.
Creating friends since 1979
Cavala is currently owned and managed by Lino’s son, Marius. This beloved seaside resort continues to draw a steady stream of travellers from across the country and the globe, enticing guests with its old world charm and convivial hospitality.
