WHITE WATER RAFTING | GOA
Away from the beaches and into the wilderness of the western ghats, Southern River Adventures offers rafting trips in the scenic inland locations of Goa. Available for rafting most of the year, these river stretches present wild and picturesque settings for both leisure and adrenaline.
Being the only operator for white water rafting in the state, Goa Rafting conducts trips on Mahdei and Tilari rivers; one bordering the Mahdei Wildlife Sanctuary and the other between the borders across Maharashtra.
Safety: The courses are closely monitored by the highly experienced founder along with a well trained and technically sound team. Rafts, helmets, life jackets and rescue ropes are imported and are of high quality. Internationally qualified guides provide briefing and onboard instructions.
This route is ideal for beginners. Guests above the age of 12 may expereince rafting in a leisurely river with grade 2 rapids at almost any depth. Rapids with names like 'Big Daddy', 'Giant Haystacks', 'Y fronts' and 'Pipeline', this trip ensures fun and frolic for families and adults too.

John Pollard is an Englishman living in India for several years. From a head guide in Europe's largest outdoor company to a pioneer in the adventure industry in Goa has been quite a journey for him. As a raft guide in various countries including Nepal, Australia, Italy, Austria, Switzerland, UK and Srilanka, he brings over twenty two years of experience into this business including fifteen years as operator in India.
He began a rafting business back in 1998, associating with the Government of Karnataka to operate rafting on the Kali river in Dandeli back in 1999. Currently he oversees the Mahdei project with the Government of Goa.
He is a popular figure in the white water rafting circuit globally and is world renowned for opening up several rivers for commercial rafting in peninsular India - Kundalika river (Maharashtra), Barapole and Cauvery rivers (Coorg, Karnataka), Kali (Dandeli, Karnataka) and now in Mahdei river (Goa).
Southern River Adventures was formed in 2007 in Goa as a specialty rafting company. He is married to Sylvia Kerkar; together operating a remote accommodation above Dudhsagar waterfalls called Off The Grid.
