ABOUT THE SPORT AND THE EVENT
Drawn from across India and around the world, 12 fighters will go head to head in a six-bout contest that will challenge them physically and mentally to take the top prize at India’s ultimate Combat Cage Fight Night. And for the first time, two women will also join the show, which will be boosted by the artistic magic of renowned DJs.
Combat cage fighting is a regulated, safe, competitive sport that involves a combination of martial arts techniques within the restrictions of a confined space. The first-of-its-kind event in India will intertwine a show of the complexity of technical self-defence skills with the pulsating vibe of a nightclub experience.
The event will also see some of the best DJs from Goa, India and around the world, including the renowned Eve Carey, spin unforgettable sets in the high-voltage ambience of Goa’s most famous party destination. A variety of jaw-dropping acts by performance artistes, such as firedancers and stunning ring girls in the cage, will also be part of the event. With water-tight security and medical arrangements – including bouncers, strict vigilance, paramedics, an on-site doctor and ambulance, Combat Cage Fight Night is set to be the best organised self-defence entertainment event in the country. It will kick off a series of similar events throughout the season. Weigh-ins for the various weight categories will take place on Saturday, January 17th, at Mambos Café in Baga, where guests will get a chance to pick their favourite fighter for the contest.
This event is sponsored by Magners Irish Cider, XXX Tequila, Go Pro, Viva Goa Magazine, VH1 and Manipal. The Goa Tourism department has come forward in support of Combat Cage Fight Night whole-heartedly as a “unique event that has a potential to draw tourists to Goa”.
