THE PLACE
The owner is a family man, and great lengths have been taken at this pleasant beach café to entertain the kids, from a special kindergarten service in the morning to cartoon screenings every day. Meanwhile, being a 24 hour restaurant, Bora Bora also caters to Goa's more adult crowds in the later hours of the evening till early morning.
A FAMILY BEACH SHACK
THE FOOD
The cottage cheese has been a Bora Bora speciality since it opened seven years ago. Created of milk specially sourced from an organic dairy farm, the cottage cheese here has proven to be so popular that there are plans now of supplying it to local grocery stores.
24 HOUR CAFE
Open 24 hours, the Bora Bora not only feeds Goa's revelling night crowds, but has also become a transit stop for visitors arriving from the airport in the late night. Taxis are taken directly from the airport to Bora Bora in the wee hours of the morning, and it is not usual to find customers relaxing here with suitcases at hand as they sort out their accommodations.
THE BORA BORA PARTIES
In its early days, Bora Bora was reputed to be one the area's prime beach-party spots. The café has now evolved into a more quieter, family space with only a handful of parties organized during the season, including New Year's Eve and Dima's (the owner) annual birthday soiree. However, Bora Bora parties are organized in other key venues across North Goa, targeting Goa's Russian clientele.
THE STORY
Bora Bora was originally owned by Tito's, Goa's famed hospitality brand, and was being run as a quaint beach shack. In 2004, the Russian duo, both named Dima, took over the ownership and kept the name.
Over the years, Bora Bora has become a focal point of the Russian visitors in Goa and has become increasingly popular with other tourists for its 24 hour kitchen service, its pizzas, fresh cottage cheese, and for the occasional Bora Bora party. Not only popular, Bora Bora is also reputable, garnering many reviews and mentions in Indian as well as Russian Press and Media.
